## Description

Experience the challenges of lip reading through an interactive game.

Hear with Eyes

How much of a conversation can you understand without relying on sound?

Hear with Eyes is an interactive quiz game that lets hearing users experience one aspect of deaf and hard-of-hearing communication through lip reading. Instead of simply explaining the challenges of lip reading, the app invites you to experience them firsthand.

Watch short lip movement animations and guess the spoken word using visual information. A faint, muffled audio cue is available, but the primary source of information is what you see—not what you hear.

Features

• Four difficulty levels from Easy to Extreme

• Progressive gameplay that encourages observation and inference

• Replay-based scoring system that rewards careful listening and viewing

• Clean and intuitive interface designed for focused learning

• Fully playable without relying on audio

Why Hear with Eyes?

Many people assume that sign language is the primary communication method for all deaf individuals. In reality, many deaf and hard-of-hearing people also use lip reading, spoken language, writing, gestures, or a combination of communication methods.

Hear with Eyes was created to encourage empathy through direct experience rather than explanation.

This app is not intended to replicate the lived experience of deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals. Instead, it offers an opportunity to better understand some of the cognitive effort involved in lip-reading–based communication.
