## Description

On iPhone Duo the guide now opens like a book, with the library on the left page and the entry you are reading on the right.

UX Field Guide is a calm, offline reference for anyone who designs digital products. It collects the patterns, best practices, named laws, and psychological principles behind good user experience, each explained in plain language with a clear "apply" note, a good-versus-bad example, a concept illustration, and, where it helps, an interactive demo you can play with.

OPENS LIKE A BOOK
Open iPhone Duo like a book and the guide lays out two pages across the inner display, with the library and a pillar's entries on the left page and the entry you are reading on the right. The pages meet at the fold with a clear strip either side of the crease, so neither the list nor the entry runs across it. You can search on the left page while the entry stays open on the right. When you close the phone, the outer display carries on with the same entry and the related entries you followed, and both pages come back when you open it again. On the outer display the whole guide works as it does on any iPhone, with search, Ask, and all four pillars.

FOUR PILLARS
• Patterns: reusable solutions like progressive disclosure, empty states, and onboarding.
• Best Practices: actionable do and don't guidance, from sensible defaults to touch target size.
• UX Laws: the named laws and effects, including Hick's, Fitts's, Miller's, Jakob's, and Von Restorff.
• Psychology: broader concepts and biases, including the Gestalt principles.

FIND BY MEANING
Search matches the meaning of what you type, so you can describe a problem in your own words, and it ranks the most relevant entries with a short summary. Ask a question in plain language and get a short, grounded answer that points you back into the guide.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Everything runs on your device. The guide ships inside the app and works with no connection. There are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking of any kind.

The design is quiet and legible, with a clear type hierarchy, a single functional accent, and light and dark themes.
