## Description

Katti is a localized archive tool designed for knitters to bridge the gap between physical yarn stashes and project progress. Unlike generic inventory apps, it integrates voice-memo progress logs with visual gauge records to ensure every adjustment in needle size or row count is preserved for future reference. Creating and saving a new permanent yarn entry requires 60 in-app coins.

Intermediate and advanced knitters often struggle with project amnesia—picking up a half-finished sweater months later only to forget which needle size was used for the ribbing or where the specific dye lot was purchased. Katti solves this by allowing users to upload photos of their yarn and swatches, extracting color references and pairing them with structured data like material, weight, and storage location. Instead of typing out long notes while your hands are busy with needles, you can record voice logs that the app converts into a searchable timeline of your progress. This creates a digital paper trail for every swatch and skein, eliminating the guesswork when you need to replicate a specific texture or find a matching accent color from your existing inventory.

The app generates individual Yarn Snapshot cards that summarize essential metadata alongside a custom color palette for quick visual matching.

When starting a new project, use the Gauge Record module to document your swatches before and after blocking. You can input stitch and row counts for a 10cm square, attach a photo of the fabric, and link it directly to a specific yarn entry in your stash. This ensures that your tension data is never separated from the material used, making it easy to adjust patterns for a perfect fit. The integrated Row Counter also tracks repeats and increases, allowing you to pause a project at any point and return with a clear understanding of your current status.

All records and voice logs are stored locally on your device to maintain privacy. Color and density recognition provide references based on your photos, though manual adjustments are supported to ensure your knitting measurements remain accurate.
