## Description

παρέα · pa-RAY-a · the good company you eat with. The friends you cook for. The handful of recipes you make on rotation. The small, undocumented history of your kitchen.

Parea is a quiet place to keep that history.

Your cooking, written down
Log what you cooked tonight - the recipe, who ate it, a few honest notes, a photo or two. Star it. Come back next month and remember whether it was actually worth making again.

Recipes that fit the way you cook
Type them out, save them from a URL, or scan a recipe straight out of a cookbook - Parea uses on-device OCR and AI to fill in the title, ingredients, and method. Snap one page or several if the recipe spans them. Then file each into a cookbook of your own - "Weeknight pasta", "Christmas day", "Things I want to nail this year" - or just leave it in your library.

The company at the table
Follow the people you actually cook with. Their meals appear in your feed alongside yours. Comment, save the ones that catch your eye, ask someone to write up the recipe they posted a story about. Stories last 24 hours; the rest of Parea is a diary, not a stream.

Eating out, remembered
Tag a restaurant, who you went with, a few honest stars. Parea cross-references so when you're sat somewhere new, you'll see whether anyone you follow has already eaten there.

Respect for the books that taught you
When you scan a recipe from a copyrighted cookbook, Parea hides the ingredients and method from anyone else - only you see the full thing. The cookbook stays the source. Parea points your friends back to it if they want to make the dish too.

For people who like food, like cooking, and like the people they cook with.
