## Description

A shape sits on the grid. A transformation matrix is shown. Drag the shape to where it lands after the transformation. The math is real. So is the challenge.

Shape Matrix Ace gives you a coordinate grid, a shape, and a matrix. Your job is to figure out where the shape goes.

The shape sits on the grid in blue — a triangle, a rectangle, an arrow, an L. Above it, a 2×2 transformation matrix is displayed in clean monospace type. The matrix is real. It contains the exact numbers that define what happens to every point in the plane when the transformation is applied. You read the matrix, you visualise the result, and you drag the amber shape to where you think it lands.

Then you submit. The true transformed shape animates in from the original position — morphing, rotating, stretching, shearing — and lands exactly where the mathematics says it should. You see the difference between your prediction and the truth. That gap, measured in grid units, is your score.

At low scores the matrices are simple. A reflection across the Y-axis reverses the x-coordinates and leaves y alone. A 90-degree rotation sends every point (x, y) to (−y, x). These are readable patterns. The transformation name is shown below the matrix as a hint. You begin to see what the numbers mean.

Then the names disappear. The matrix remains. Now you must read it directly — four numbers in a two-by-two grid — and work out what they do to the shape without being told. A matrix like [0.71, −0.71 / 0.71, 0.71] is a 45-degree rotation. You might not know that yet. After seeing the reveal animation several times, you will.

At higher scores the matrices become composite — two transformations applied in sequence. Rotate then scale. Shear then reflect. The matrices are pre-multiplied and shown as a single result, but the effect on the shape compounds in ways that require genuine spatial reasoning to anticipate. Getting a composite transformation right feels like solving a puzzle that most people never encounter outside a university linear algebra course.

The reveal animation is the heart of the game. Every submission teaches something. The shape moves from where it was to where it had to go, and the path it takes makes the mathematics physical in a way that no textbook diagram achieves.
