## Description

InnerRing is a privacy-first, invite-only messaging app designed for the people closest to you. Conversations are deliberately 1:1, without requiring a phone number or email address for account identity, public discovery, or noisy group chats.

PRIVATE IDENTITY
Create an account using a recovery key instead of personal contact details. Your recovery key is the only way to restore access, so keep it somewhere safe.

INVITE-ONLY CONNECTIONS
Add trusted contacts using one-time, expiring invite codes or QR codes. There is no public profile directory or user search.

END-TO-END ENCRYPTED
Ordinary messages and reactions are encrypted on your device using X3DH and the Double Ratchet. InnerRing’s backend stores ciphertext and limited metadata and cannot read ordinary conversation text. If you choose to report a received message, a plaintext snapshot of that message is sent to InnerRing for safety review. Private encryption keys remain on your device.

FOCUSED MESSAGING
Send messages, replies, and reactions; edit or delete messages; search conversations locally; and use per-contact Incognito mode to read without sending read receipts.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your local message database is encrypted. Optional iCloud backup encrypts your data before upload and can only be restored using your recovery key.

SAFETY AND CONTROL
Report received messages or abusive display names, block contacts, review links before opening them, export your data, and request account deletion from inside the app.

SUBSCRIPTION
One monthly auto-renewable subscription unlocks contacts, invitations, and messaging. Profile, account, privacy, safety-reporting, data-export, and deletion controls remain available without an active subscription. Subscriptions can be managed or canceled through your Apple Account settings.
