MD-1 is a cassette-inspired recorder for iPhone built for people who miss warmth, instability, and happy accidents. It combines vintage tape behavior with modern recording workflows, minus broken belts, dirty heads, and finding out your favorite cassette got eaten.

TAPE CHARACTER CONTROLS

Five sliders. Five ways to ruin perfection.

Push the input gain into the red.
Add Tape Wear for softened highs and tired old cassette energy.
Drive Saturation for harmonic grit and glue.
Introduce Wow & Flutter for subtle instability and capstan wobble.
And change Tape Speed from 0.5x to 2.0x, with pitch following along as real tape would.

Digital audio has spent decades trying to eliminate these things.
We put them back.

TWO TAPE FORMULATIONS

Ferric (Type I): warm, bass-heavy, beautifully imperfect.
Chrome (Type II): brighter, cleaner, slightly more civilized.

Different EQ curves. Different saturation. Different personalities.

RECORD WITHOUT THE DRAMA

Punch in anywhere without losing the rest of your take.
Monitor your input before recording.
Watch your levels on a proper analog-style VU meter.
Keep track of time with a mechanical tape counter because honestly… DAW timelines are boring.

Double-tap Tape Speed to snap back to 1.0x.
