Or just the phone already in your pocket. Eyeball It is a bunch of tools living on your phone waiting for their day in the limelight. What day? Only time will tell, but as the saying goes, "the best tool is the one you have with you," someone said this surely. Eight tools, the whole set: How Loud? A real decibel meter. Reads your microphone and shows the level with a context phrase ("about like a vacuum cleaner") and a color zone bar. It pegs the peak and saves the session. Calibrate against a known reference (premium). How Level? A bubble level that switches itself: lay the phone flat for a target scope, stand it on edge for a classic tube. Cross-axis-immune math keeps it accurate even when you're not. Calibrate per-edge (premium). How Long? An AR ruler. Place two points in the camera view, get the distance, and nudge either one without losing it. Honest about its limits: without LiDAR it's a smart estimate, with LiDAR (Pro devices) it's tight. How Far? The other end of that problem. Aim across the yard and tap; the picture freezes. Drop a bead where the thing meets the ground and the distance is written on the photo. Drop more beads, get more distances off the same shot. Works from about 10 feet out to 80-odd, wants the ground in frame, and goes yellow then red as it starts guessing. Because past a point, it is. How Vibrating? A vibration meter. Set the phone on a washing machine, a railing, an idling engine and hit record; the accelerometer says how hard it's shaking, in g, while a seismograph scrolls. Free runs 30 seconds; premium is unlimited and adds a frequency spectrum. How Magnetic? A magnetometer turned metal detector. A live field reading, sonar rings that ping faster as you close in, and a tone that climbs with the field. Tap Zero to hunt what's nearby, not your phone's own guts. Premium adds Find mode (a bearing arrow to the source), a field log, and a threshold alert. How Bright? A light meter that reads your camera. Reflected mode measures light bouncing off what you point at. Incident mode measures the light landing in the room, using a sheet of paper over the front lens as a diffuser. It looks silly and it's the honest way to do this on a phone, so it's free. Premium adds a light alert, color temperature in Kelvin, and camera settings. How Fast? Three ways to answer it. Ground reads GPS for how fast you're moving: a run, a drive, or settling what that bike ride averaged. Climb reads the barometer for how fast you're gaining height, the number stairs and ski lifts never give you. Swing reads the gyroscope 100 times a second, and you're holding the phone, not the racket, so it's your forehand getting clocked. Premium adds splits, a speed alert, and every run kept.
