## Description

FlashNet predicts thunderstorms and lightning up to 3 hours ahead, before the first strike hits.
Most weather apps tell you it's raining once it's already raining. FlashNet is different. Powered by AI and next-generation satellite imagery from the MTG Lightning Imager, it detects the early signals of convective activity and gives you a 3-hour window to act.
What FlashNet does:

Forecasts thunderstorm development and lightning activity up to 3 hours in advance
Updates every 10 minutes at 1 km resolution across Europe
Displays live and predicted lightning on an interactive map
Works entirely from space, no reliance on ground-based sensors alone

Built on next-generation satellite data
FlashNet uses imagery from Meteosat Third Generation (MTG), Europe's most advanced weather satellite. Its Lightning Imager detects both cloud-to-ground and intra-cloud lightning, the kind that precedes storms before they fully develop. This gives FlashNet an earlier warning signal than traditional lightning networks.
AI-powered, probabilistic forecasting
Under the hood, FlashNet runs a deep learning model trained on years of satellite and radar data. Rather than producing a single deterministic forecast, it understands storm uncertainty, giving you a more honest picture of where and when conditions are dangerous.
