## Description

Clean, distraction-free apps for reading and reciting Sikh banis. With Gurmukhi, Roman and Dev Nagari script options and English Translations.

Nitnem is a clean, distraction-free app for reading and reciting the five daily Nitnem prayers observed by Sikhs as part of the Amrit Vela practice.

THE FIVE MORNING BANIS
• Japji Sahib
• Jaap Sahib
• Tav Prasad Savaiye
• Benti Chaupai Sahib
• Anand Sahib

Each bani is presented in full with Gurmukhi, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, and English translation — all toggleable so you can read in whichever scripts you prefer.

FEATURES

Per-Bani Progress — Your place in each bani is saved independently. Pick up exactly where you left off, across all five prayers.

Flexible Reading Layout — Choose how many verses appear per page (1–8) and swipe between pages.

Adjustable Font Sizes — Set separate font sizes for Gurmukhi/Devanagari and for Roman/English text, with a live preview in Settings.

Display Scripts — Show or hide any combination of Gurmukhi, Devanagari, Roman transliteration, and English translation.

Keep Screen Awake — Prevents the screen from dimming during recitation so you never lose your place mid-path.

Translation Sources — English translations are sourced from sikhizm.com and nitnemsahib.com. Full attribution is available under Settings → Translation Sources.

DESIGN
Built with daily use in mind — dark background to reduce eye strain in early morning light, gold typography rooted in Sikh aesthetic tradition, and a minimal interface that keeps the bani front and centre. No ads, no accounts, no distractions.
