Lantern is a quiet iPhone app for learning languages by reading the books you actually want to read. Tap any word for a translation. Double-tap a sentence to translate it in context. No streaks. No quizzes. No notifications begging for your attention. Just you, a book, and a small light to read by.

Reading is how a language settles into a person. You meet a word in context, then again, then again — and one day, you simply know it. Lantern keeps you in that loop and gets out of the way. Every page exposes you to natural sentence structure, idioms, and the words native speakers actually use, far beyond what any flashcard deck can teach.
