## Description

Free. No subscription, no ads, no account. Built by one grumpy developer for his own recipes — turns out other people wanted in too.

I built ReciFree because I was sick of recipe apps that want a monthly subscription just to look at my own grandmother's meatloaf recipe. So I made my own. Then I figured other people might be just as tired of it as I am.

There's no account. No subscription. No ads. No "premium tier" holding your own data hostage. Your recipes live in your own private iCloud — I never see them, and I don't want to.

What it actually does:

• Import recipes from websites, Instagram/TikTok captions, or a photo of a handwritten card — pick whatever's easiest
• Organize automatically into Smart Shelves (Recently Added, Favorites, Quick meals, by tag) so you're not scrolling one giant list
• A Spice Rack to track what's actually in your kitchen
• Scale any recipe up or down, with a tap-to-convert metric/imperial toggle right next to the amount
• Tap any temperature in the directions to flip between °F and °C
• "Make It" mode for actually cooking — ingredients and directions each scroll on their own, screen stays awake, no picture or life story in your way
• A grocery list that builds itself from what you're planning to cook
• Everything syncs across your own devices through iCloud — not my servers

If you want AI-assisted import (parsing a messy recipe page or caption automatically), you can turn that on in Settings — but you'll need to supply your own free API key from Anthropic or Google. I'm not paying to run AI on your behalf, and I'm not charging you for it either. It's entirely optional and off by default.

This is a one-person project I built for myself. I'll fix bugs when people report them and I have time, but there's no roadmap, no support ticket queue, and no venture capital riding on this. You get what you pay for — which, in this case, is a genuinely useful app with a hard $0 price tag and zero interest in renting your recipes back to you.
