WHY A RING INSTEAD OF A NUMBER
Your timer is a colour-coded progress ring that moves from green through yellow and orange to red as the session runs down. Time stops being an abstract number you have to convert in your head and becomes a shape that is obviously shrinking. That's the whole idea. Everything else is built around it.
