## Description

eNES combines NES and SNES emulation in one app. Import your own .nes, .sfc, or .smc files, then play with customizable on-screen controls, save states, autosave, and support for external controllers. NES games can also be played on Apple Watch.

Record and replay inputs with TAS tools, or customize gameplay with haptic feedback, filters, and color palettes. The app is free with ads, with an optional PRO upgrade for ad removal and extra features. No games are included; use your own files.

## Rankings

- #109,841 — Overall

## Review summary

Users praise the app for solid NES emulation and overall enjoyment, but report recurring control and reliability issues. The main drawbacks are a non-ideal D-pad that forces lifting the finger to change direction, inability to press A and B at the same time, and stability problems like crashes and lost progress. Additionally, the library is sparse and ROMs can be hard to discover or launch. The emulator shows promise but needs better controls, reliability, and a broader content catalog.

### Pros

- Strong NES emulation quality with generally smooth performance
- Overall positive user sentiment toward the emulator
- Runs well for at least some titles (e.g., Mario Bros)

### Cons

- D-pad usability is poor: you cannot slide between directions; you must lift your finger
- Inability to press A and B simultaneously, making certain moves and combos difficult or impossible
- Stability issues include random crashes and the app turning off or losing progress
- Limited game library / missing popular titles and ROM availability
