OctoStudio, from the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab (creators of Scratch), lets kids create offline animations and games on mobile devices. Use photos, drawings, sounds, and coding blocks to bring ideas to life, then share with friends and family. It’s free of ads, collects no data, and works offline in 20+ languages.

Features include interactive projects controlled by tilting a phone, shaking or beam-collaboration across devices, and options to export videos or GIFs. Designed for education, OctoStudio provides starter videos, remixable samples, and opportunities to develop creative thinking and problem-solving through playful coding.
