## Description

Mappr is a Chrome extension that makes it simple to add or update a photo's GPS data right before you share it to Instagram. You can choose a photo from your library or use the camera, then assign a new location by address, city, or country. The location is embedded into the image's EXIF data, ensuring the change travels with the photo when you post it.

Preview the edited image, open it directly in Instagram to finish posting, or save the updated photo to your library. Mappr duplicates the image with the new location, preserving your original file. Use it to reflect any location you want to share, while keeping mindful of privacy when needed.

## Review summary

Users praise Mappr for its easy, straightforward geotagging and the ability to retroactively add locations to photos so they show up on a map. However, multiple reviews highlight significant reliability and compatibility issues: lack of HEIC/HEIF support requiring format conversions, recurrent crashes or freezes when adding photos, and unstable performance after processing several images. These recurring problems limit usability despite the positive core functionality.

### Pros

- Easy to use / intuitive interface.
- Retroactive geotagging: add location data to existing photos without GPS.
- Embeds location data so photos appear on a map / map visualization.

### Cons

- No support for HEIC/HEIF formats; requires converting to JPEG to use.
- Frequent crashes or freezes when selecting/uploading photos.
- Unreliable performance: stops or spins after processing a number of photos.
