## Description

The Coast Guard SafeTrx app is the official tool from the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard (AVCG) and Volunteer Marine Rescue Queensland (VMRQ) for vessel registration and voyage planning. Use Sail Plan mode to file a trip with vessel details, destination, ETA, passenger count, and activity type, or choose Track Only mode to start live position reporting. Built-in maps let you pick a starting point, optional waypoints, and a final destination, with regular position updates to the SafeTrx server and automatic emergency alerts if the ETA is exceeded.

Additional features include a personalized checklist to include in your Sail Plan, an optional distress call or assistance request on iPhone, and quick start tracking. Be mindful that continuous GPS usage can affect battery life, and always consider multiple safety sources in emergencies.
