## Review summary

Users praise Maestro for its simple, straightforward control of Apogee gear on iOS and view it as an essential companion when hardware is recognized. However, persistent issues overshadow the positives: ongoing compatibility problems with newer iPads (USB‑C) and iOS updates; frequent device recognition failures; app crashes and erratic behavior; and phantom-power control problems. Many reviews feel Apogee’s software updates lag behind hardware support, leaving some hardware effectively unusable on newer devices. Overall, Maestro works well when it recognizes gear, but reliability and ongoing support need major improvements.

### Pros

- Simple and straightforward to control Apogee gear from iOS.
- Easy to learn and figure out, making it approachable for most users.
- Essential companion app for Apogee interfaces on iOS when the device is recognized.

### Cons

- Not compatible with newer iPad Pro / USB‑C and the app hasn't been updated to support them.
- Device recognition failures or long 'waiting for device' issues that prevent use.
- Crashes and unstable behavior, including erratic meters and UI glitches.
- Phantom power control often doesn't work or cannot be enabled via the app.
- Promised features and broader hardware support have been slow to materialize, leaving some gear effectively unsupported.
