## Description

Hair Zapp is a Chrome extension that lets you see how different hairstyles look on your own photo. Open the app, take a selfie, and apply a variety of hairstyles in high-resolution to preview a natural makeover.

Highlights include Favorites to compare looks side-by-side, anonymous Community feedback, and premium features for hairdressers such as expanded hairstyle libraries, ad-free mode, and project management. The app is ad-funded unless you upgrade, and you can share your favorites with friends or your stylist.

## Rankings

- #70,190 — Overall

## Review summary

Hair Zapp is easy to use and free, with positive reviews about previewing different hairstyles and its fun, lightweight feel. However, multiple reviews report major usability issues: the selfie/template alignment is buggy and hard to adjust, and some flows won’t let you exit headshot mode. The app is ad-heavy with unclear premium options. Content is limited: few hairstyles and colors, with long styles missing and limited color realism. Some users also face language barriers. Overall, it shows potential as a visualization tool if these usability and content gaps are addressed.

### Pros

- Easy to use and seamless
- Free version is enjoyable and not heavily limited
- Fun and useful for seeing how you look with different hairstyles

### Cons

- Selfie/face-fit alignment is buggy; adjusting the outline is hard or impossible; can't exit to a new headshot
- Ad-heavy experience with unclear or non-functional premium options
- Limited hairstyle and color options (long styles missing; colors seem limited or unreal
- Inability to upload your own photo or use photos from your album
- Language/terms not in English causing transparency concerns
