## Description

FlyQ InSight is an augmented reality aviation app for iPhone and iPad that overlays live airport markers on your camera view, helping you locate nearby airports by distance and type. It delivers weather data, airport and FBO details, fuel prices, and a library of US/Canadian weather graphics, all accessible with simple taps. You can search airports by ident or name, or browse by state or city, and share favorites and photos with social networks.

In addition to real-time AR features, FlyQ InSight includes a wind-optimized flight planner that routes you via Victor Airways, GPS Direct, or Jet Airways, with auto weather briefings from Lockheed Martin/DUATS. It supports flight plan sharing with FlyQ EFB and FlyQ Online, offline storage of graphics and METARs/TAFs, and a clean, tap-driven interface designed for pilots.

## Review summary

FlyQ InSight is praised for its AR airport finder, easy learning curve, and quick weather/airport data, making it a strong backup tool. However, stability issues and occasional reopen failures hinder cockpit use. Changes to external data services (Duats/FAA feeds) and unclear membership requirements reduce functionality, and users want clearer, more timely updates from Seattle Avionics.

### Pros

- Augmented reality airport lookup is amazing and makes finding airports super easy.
- Very easy to learn with a fast, intuitive UI; great emergency backup.
- Fast, simple access to weather and airport information (weather/ASOS) in a compact tool.
- Strong support and ongoing updates; features requested have appeared in updates over time.

### Cons

- Stability and reliability issues: repeated crashes and flight plans that are hard or impossible to input.
- App sometimes won’t reopen after closing or flashes briefly on launch, making cockpit use difficult.
- External data changes (Duats/FAA data) reduce functionality and require updates; membership requirements add confusion.
- Unclear or delayed update roadmap; users frequently ask if and when updates will be released.
