## Description

The YUTorah App, made possible by Adina Katz in memory of Marcos Katz z"l, is a project of Yeshiva University's Center for the Jewish Future. It offers over 180,000 Torah shiurim and articles from more than 2,000 speakers, including YU Roshei Yeshiva and other Torah luminaries from around the world.

Key features include offline downloads, adjustable audio speed, and personalized feeds for your favorite speakers, venues, and series. You can stop a shiur and resume where you left off, and browse content easily to find what you want. The opinions expressed are those of the author or lecturer and not necessarily those of Yeshiva University.

## Review summary

Users praise the app for its strong Torah content and improved design, and its ease of use on the go. However, many reviews cite stability problems, iOS compatibility gaps, and missing features like offline downloads, playback speed/seek controls, and better navigation. Addressing reliability and feature gaps could significantly lift overall satisfaction.

### Pros

- High-quality Torah content with a wide range of shiurim available through the app.
- Well-made, user-friendly design that is easier to use than the mobile website.
- Recent updates/redesign have improved look and usability and restored functionality.
- Convenient for listening on the go (in the car, during commutes).

### Cons

- Frequent freezing/crashing and general instability across devices.
- Outdated compatibility and support for newer iOS versions (e.g., iOS 11) leading to mandatory updates.
- Lack of offline listening: no option to download shiurim for offline use.
- Missing playback controls: no speed adjustment, no seek/rewind, and occasional playback stops.
- Navigation/UX issues: missing back buttons on screens, poor filtering, and lack of bookmarks or source sheets.
