## Description

The OpConnect Chrome extension lets you locate electric vehicle charging stations on a searchable, GPS-enabled map. It displays real-time status and availability for OpConnect managed chargers near you and provides driving directions to your chosen station. You can pay for charging at the station using your OpConnect account and save stations to Favorites for quick access.

Additional features include viewing charging sessions and billing history, managing payment cards, and editing your OpConnect profile to fit your membership.

## Review summary

User reviews consistently cite a mandatory $20 start balance, burdensome onboarding, opaque billing with hidden/idle fees, and frequent station outages. The app is described as slow and clunky, with privacy concerns and poor customer support. Collectively, these factors suggest OpConnect is seen as inconvenient and expensive rather than a reliable charging option.

### Cons

- Requires a $20 minimum balance to start charging, with funds often nonwithdrawable and subject to auto recharge.
- Extensive onboarding and app requirements before charging, including sign up, verification, adding a payment method, and funding the account.
- Billing and fee practices are opaque, including hidden charges and idle charges, with reports of double charges.
- Charger stations are frequently offline or unreliable, leading to failed charges and long downtimes.
- Poor app UX and privacy concerns such as slow UI, data collection, and excessive permissions.
