## Description

**BlockerX** is a subscription-based website and adult content blocker for iPhone, designed to support healthier browsing and reduce online distractions. Block websites across Safari and Chrome, filter unwanted content, and use the panic switch to instantly restrict internet access during moments of temptation.

The app includes accountability partner connections, community support, curated educational content, daily browsing reports, and notifications if the VPN is disabled or the app is uninstalled. BlockerX can help users limit access to adult content, gambling, games, social media, and other distracting websites.

## Rankings

- #8 — website blocker
- #12 — adskipper
- #30 — stayfree
- #67 — ad skipper

## Review summary

Users largely praise BlockerX for reducing porn use and boosting mood/productivity, and for providing motivation and support. However, multiple reviews flag steep pricing, non-refundable charges, billing and login problems, and reliability issues (panic button failures, VPN bypass). Overall, it seems effective for many, but expensive and sometimes brittle in practice.

### Pros

- Helps reduce porn consumption and addiction with users reporting progress over weeks to months
- Improves mood, happiness, and productivity, with some users feeling less alone
- Provides motivation and support to quit porn, contributing to sustained behavior change
- Overall positive sentiment across reviews suggests the app can be effective for many users

### Cons

- High cost and perception that the app is not free, with prices cited (e.g., 50 per month)
- Billing and refund problems, including instant charges during a trial and denied refunds
- Account access issues after payment, such as being logged out or forced renewals with no easy recovery
- Reliability concerns like the panic button not working and users able to bypass blocks by turning off VPN
