## Description

FourSix makes pour-over brewing simple by turning a complex method into an easy, repeatable process. Built around the 4:6 technique from Tetsu Kasuya, it creates a custom pulse pour recipe from three questions: Do you prefer sweeter or brighter profiles? How much coffee extraction do you want? And what size are you brewing? The app shows how each pulse affects your cup and guides you with a precise timer.

When you’re ready, start the timer and pour exactly as instructed. FourSix supports Hario V60 setups with a gram-scale, and it can pair with a gooseneck kettle and thermometer to dial in water temperature. For even more control, FourSix Pro adds extra settings, brew logging with notes and ratings, and notifications about when your coffee is at the perfect temperature.

## Review summary

FourSix Coffee Timer is highly praised for automating 4:6 math, precise timing, ease of use, brew consistency, and notes tracking. Reviewers repeatedly mention the accurate calculations, reliable timer, and intuitive UI as major strengths. A recurring concern is the v2 redesign, which introduced onboarding friction and needed extra taps to access pro features. Overall, it’s a strong tool for pour-over enthusiasts, though onboarding and design changes can slow new users.

### Pros

- Instant calculations and automatic math for the 4:6 method, making complex brew math effortless.
- Built-in timer with precise pour timing and water addition guidance for consistency.
- Easy-to-use, clean, and purposeful UI with no unnecessary frills.
- Helps achieve consistent, repeatable brews across sessions.
- Notes and tracking for different coffees, bags, and brew settings.

### Cons

- V2 redesign caused initial confusion and added friction (defaulting to brew mode and requiring extra taps to access pro features).
