## Description

RI0T is a narrative-driven game by Leonard Menchiari that explores protest dynamics by letting players experience civil unrest from both sides — rioters and police. It draws on real events from NoTAV and other European protests between 2012 and 2016, inviting players to reflect on triggers, tactics, and the human feelings on the ground.

In gameplay, you choose your approach in single-player story modes as either rioters or police, or face off in a local two-player Versus mode. The game features historical and bonus levels—Indignados, Notav, Keratea, Tahrir Revolution, Occupy, and more—along with achievements and narrative cutscenes that unfold as you progress.

## Review summary

Reviewers consistently praise the game's art style and the compelling riot-versus-police concept, including historical scenarios and the dual-perspective theme. However, multiple users report confusing onboarding and a lack of clear tutorials or goals, coupled with weak unit AI that makes characters wander or fail to respond as expected. Many call for more controls and customization (PC-style controls, more maps and units, sandbox mode). There’s also concern about balance and difficulty on later levels, plus a desire for ongoing updates and content additions (weather, DLC, new modes).

### Pros

- Beautiful art style and visuals.
- Interesting riot-versus-police concept with historical scenarios.
- Overall enjoyable and engaging gameplay.

### Cons

- Poor unit AI/movement; units wander or fail to respond as intended.
- Confusing onboarding and a lack of clear goals or proper tutorials.
- Limited controls; demand for more control (PC-style controls) and more customization (maps, units).
- Balance/difficulty issues in later levels; some stages are too hard or inconsistent.
- Want more content and updates (new maps, more units, DLC, weather features); some mention police unit costs.
