## Description

placiibo is a **NFC writing tool** that writes encrypted binary files to NTAG215 NFC tags. It includes a library to import and manage your binaries, a dark mode, and a customizable app icon. Some features require an in-app purchase or subscription. placiibo currently supports NTAG215, encrypted writes with 160-byte encryption keys, and binary files between 532 and 572 bytes. It does not support NDEF.

Use cases include access management for buildings, employee or student IDs, or interactive figurines that interact with supported video games. Note you must provide your own binary files and encryption keys; subscription details and policy links are provided.

## Review summary

Reviews show placiibo is valued by some users for writing amiibos reliably when it works and for its ease of use and potential cost savings, especially for ACNH players. However, multiple users report reliability problems—stopped writing, inconsistent tag reads, and dependence on device conditions. Pricing is a major point of contention, with critics calling the subscription model expensive. Customer support and refunds are also flagged as poor, and there are competing free/cheaper alternatives.

### Pros

- Reliable for many users when it functions correctly
- Ridiculously easy to use with a quick click, save, and write workflow
- Good value and can save money compared to buying physical amiibo or other solutions (lifetime option)
- Especially useful for Animal Crossing: New Horizons players

### Cons

- Pricing model is expensive or controversial (subscription/usage fees) with mixed value
- Frequent reliability issues and inconsistent writing/reading of NFC tags
- Poor customer support and refund handling (unresponsive or unsatisfactory)
- There are better free or cheaper alternatives (Amiiboss, AmiiBox) and other apps with fewer constraints
