## Description

Map Marks is a Chrome extension designed for retriever trainers to capture and organize bird and blind placements during training setups, field trials, and hunt tests.

With a map-based workflow, drop marks by pressing Map for 1 second, choose throw types (left, right, angle in, square, angle back), and easily erase or move any mark, blind, or mat. Customize what you see in settings (titles, distance, current location), switch between yards and meters, and choose whether to display the order throws or pickups. The app also maintains a chronological history of all saved setups for quick reference and sharing.

## Review summary

Map Marks is easy to use for recording and sharing retriever training setups, functioning well as a field journal for distances, marks, and blinds. Reviewers regularly praise its simplicity and collaboration benefits, but want better outdoor touch reliability, undo/removal options, cross-device sync, and additional field features like wind markers, decoys, arc visualization, and location search.

### Pros

- Easy to use and quick to log training setups and notes.
- Helpful for recording training progress over time.
- Good at mapping distances, marks, and blinds and organizing field setups.
- Useful for sharing training setups with clients remotely.
- Acts as a convenient field journal for daily training notes.

### Cons

- Outdoor touch input can be unreliable on newer devices, making marks hard to create or move outside.
- No undo feature and limited editing controls; there is no easy way to remove or fix mistakes.
- No cross-device syncing between iPhone and iPad; workflow can’t easily sync data.
- Missing field features and visualization options (wind markers, decoys, arc previews) and larger icons that occlude the fall area.
- Lacks address/location search to quickly move the map to a location.
