## Description

SoloSlides for Google Photos is a Chrome extension that turns your photos into a full-screen slideshow on your iOS device and TV. It can pull images from Google Photos, Camera Roll, or Wifibooth and streams without requiring a TV app via DLNA/UPnP. Free features include auto-updates when photos change, filtering by album or date, hiding photos, and sharing the current image; Premium unlocks add shuffle, a clock, a creation date display, and a nighttime mode with a one-time purchase (no subscriptions).

Note: Google has announced it will terminate all read-only API access to Google Photos on March 31, 2025, and SoloSlides will stop working with Google Photos on that date. The app emphasizes privacy with an ad-free experience and a straightforward terms and privacy policy.

## Review summary

Top positives include Google Photos/camera-roll support, fast performance, time programming, a simple UI, and full-screen iPad slideshows. Overall, the app works well when responsive but reliability and flexibility suffer, particularly after Google/API or iOS updates.

### Cons

- Google Photos login/compatibility breaks due to Google changes, requiring app updates.
- Slide duration fixed at 5 minutes and not adjustable, with paywall to speed up.
- Frequent stability issues: crashes and freezes, especially after updates.
