## Description

4STREAM is a Chrome extension that lets you play music from popular online services and local storage on your home network across compatible devices. You can push the same music to all rooms in sync or play different tracks in different rooms within your router’s range. From your phone or tablet, you can manage online sources, group and ungroup devices, and control volume with ease.

Designed to work with our own WiFi-enabled speakers, preamplifiers, and amplifiers, 4STREAM provides wireless control across the home. Create room groups, switch music sources, and manage playback—right from a single app.

## Review summary

4STREAM is praised for AirPlay compatibility, strong EQ, and affordable multi‑room use, plus multi-source support and a polished UI. However, most reviews cite reliability problems: devices frequently fail to discover or connect, and multi-room operations time out. The app also lacks built-in Apple Music streaming, has setup/pairing quirks, and raises privacy concerns with location access. Some services come and go with updates (TIDAL, TuneIn), further eroding consistency. Overall, it can be a great value when it works, but ongoing stability and feature gaps limit its reliability.

### Pros

- Excellent AirPlay compatibility from iPhone to Arylic devices.
- Powerful per-device EQ and overall group volume control.
- Affordable multi‑room solution with a Sonos-like experience at a lower cost.
- Supports multiple streaming sources (Spotify Connect, Internet Radio) and is generally easy to set up.
- Clean, attractive UI with a simple, intuitive interface.

### Cons

- Frequent device discovery failures and stability issues that make rooms unavailable or require repeated retries.
- No built-in Apple Music streaming in the app; users must rely on AirPlay or external workarounds.
- Setup and pairing can be buggy or confusing, hindering initial setup.
- App requests location access, raising privacy concerns.
- Some streaming services are intermittently unsupported or removed after updates (e.g., TIDAL, TuneIn).
