Met de Psychofarmaca Tool kunnen behandelaren - zoals specialisten ouderengeneeskunde en psychologen - nagaan welke (niet-)medicamenteuze behandelingen passend kunnen worden ingezet bij de behandeling van onbegrepen gedrag bij mensen met dementie. De Psychofarmaca Tool integreert aanbevelingen uit de richtlijn “Probleemgedrag bij mensen met dementie” en het Farmacotherapeutisch Kompas. In deze applicatie kan de mate van passendheid van voorschrijven volgens de richtlijn worden geëvalueerd. De Psychofarmaca Tool is ontwikkeld in samenwerking met en voor gebruik in de praktijk.
