## Review summary

Pirates Outlaws is a pirate-themed card roguelike with deep gameplay and strong content, appealing to Slay the Spire fans. It is marred by RNG/balance issues, monetization concerns, cross-device save problems, grindy progression, and some UX/controls frustrations.

### Pros

- Easy to learn but offers deep strategic depth in a pirate-themed card roguelike.
- A lot of content and replayability (many classes/characters, events, bounties).
- Pirate vibe with strong visuals/skins and atmosphere.
- Feels like Slay the Spire but with more content; great for Slay the Spire fans.
- Good value for a paid game with substantial content.

### Cons

- RNG-dominated gameplay with balance issues and broken probability-based mechanics (hit/miss, 'drunk' builds, RNG feel).
- Heavy microtransactions and DLC in a paid game; cash shop can feel intrusive.
- Cross-device save problems and cloud save errors; progress can't transfer reliably.
- Grind-heavy progression and repetition; slow unlocks and content can feel stale.
- UX/controls frustrations (targeting, long animations) and missing controller support.
