## Review summary

Users praise Chess Tempo for its huge, well-curated tactic library and strong training features, but repeatedly note UI/UX issues, reliability and performance problems, and missing undo/takeback options. Bugs in history and endgames also surface. A subset appreciates post-overhaul polish and overall value, with many considering it the best tactics app for serious training when usability and stability improve.

### Pros

- Extensive, well-curated puzzle library with thousands of tactics and a strong rating system.
- Comprehensive training tools beyond puzzles (openings trainer, endgames, spaced repetition) and progress tracking.
- Free app with valuable features and long-term reliability; highly regarded by serious players.
- Recent overhaul improved UI with cleaner menus and a more polished feel.

### Cons

- UI/UX is confusing, clunky, and poorly labeled, making navigation hard.
- Frequent loading/connection issues and slow puzzle processing degrade reliability.
- No built-in undo/takeback option and misclick handling is problematic (no easy way to correct misclicks).
- Bugs affecting features (solving history not showing; endgames training not allowing moves).
- Puzzle difficulty can feel inconsistent, with some computer-like puzzles that are hard for average players.
