## Description

Drive and play with Sphero bots—MINI, 2.0, SPRK, SPRK+, and BOLT—using a single app. Choose from multiple drive modes, or turn your robot into a game controller for quick, interactive fun. Drive modes include joystick, tilt, voice, golf, and kick (note: some modes aren’t available on iPad).

Block Drive offers a colorful, block-based approach to programming as you control your robot. Then dive into games where your robot shoots through space, races through tunnels, or rotates to destroy a brick polygon.

## Review summary

Users love Sphero Play for its fun, family-friendly games and the ability to drive and program Sphero robots. However, many reviews note repeated connectivity problems, lack of support for older devices (Ollie, BB-8, SPRK/2.0) and removal of Star Wars droid controls, plus updates that disrupt legacy compatibility. Missing features like battery indicators and certain modes further muddle the experience. Overall, the app shows strong appeal and enthusiasm when it works, but reliability and legacy-device support are the main pain points.

### Pros

- Lots of fun for family and kids with a variety of games.
- Engaging control experience including driving with a controller and programming your own routines.
- Overall positive sentiment and engagement from users (many say I love this app and it's great).

### Cons

- Frequent connectivity and pairing issues; devices sometimes fail to connect or start properly.
- No longer supports older models (Ollie, BB-8, SPRK/2.0) and the Star Wars droids control/interface has been removed.
- Updates have broken compatibility with legacy devices, pushing users toward the Sphero EDU app for older hardware.
- Missing essential features (e.g., battery life indicator) and some features/tools are hard to access or removed (e.g., Face Drive).
