HighStereo is a Hi‑Fi MP3 music player with an analog-inspired UI. It features a powerful 10- or 30-band equalizer, supports MP3, FLAC, OPUS, OGG and more, and streams from up to 100k radio stations. Features include sleep timer, alarm, mood soundscapes, and playback speed from 0.3x to 4.0x.

It also offers folder management and real-time playlist editing while music plays, and supports diverse playlists (M3U, XSPF, ASX, WPL, PLS) and internet radio via Icecast/SHOUTcast.

## Rankings

- #127,365 — Overall

## Review summary

HighStereo is praised for rich sound, a powerful EQ, retro visuals, and built-in radio. However, recurring complaints focus on not being able to load local MP3/Apple Music libraries, unreliable library access, bass distortion with limited low-volume control, and usability or device-compatibility issues.

### Pros

- Excellent sound quality with a robust, customizable EQ and separate bass/treble controls.
- Visually appealing retro design and user interface.
- Built-in radio/online streaming with good sound quality.
- Ability to access and use music from iTunes/local library when accessible.

### Cons

- Cannot load or access local music files (MP3s) or Apple Music library; users report blank screens and missing songs.
- Apple Music/library access permissions are unreliable; library often does not show up.
- Bass boost can cause distortion at higher levels and volume control is hard to set low enough on earphones.
- Navigation and overall usability can be difficult or confusing.
- Performance issues on older devices and occasional radio/streaming connectivity problems.
