## Description

The free core experience includes automatic wave counting and session analytics. ## Review summary

Reviewers praise the app for rich in-session stats, motivation, intuitive UI, and value of the free version, especially for multiple water sports. However, they repeatedly report reliability and accuracy problems: sessions not recording or loading, wave counts and GPS data being off, and Strava sync issues. Persistent bugs and battery drain significantly hinder usefulness, despite the strong data features when it works.

### Pros

- Rich in-session stats and data (waves, speed, time on waves, distance paddled, calories) and tide information when available
- Motivates progress and tracking over time for surfers and multi-sport users
- Intuitive UI with easy logging of spots and boards
- Suitable for multiple water sports (surfing, SUP, foiling) according to user experiences
- Free version offers solid value

### Cons

- Inaccurate wave counts and GPS data; frequent missed or spurious waves
- Sessions often fail to start or disappear from phone/watch; reliability issues across devices
- Significant battery drain on Apple Watch during use
- Sync/export problems, especially with Strava; data synchronization is inconsistent
- Watch/app bugs and complications failing to load or refresh
