## Description

Jedona lets you write Java code directly on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Compile and run your programs, view output or errors, and edit with a feature-rich editor that includes syntax highlighting, bracket completion, and line numbers. The app supports a custom keyboard for easy input and is optimized for external or Bluetooth keyboards. You can import and export files from iCloud Drive to manage project files across devices.

Note: Jedona is a batch compiler and requires an internet connection for compilation. Interactive prompts are not supported and only one file can run at a time, with a maximum runtime of 20 seconds. Some file system, network, and graphics functions may be limited on mobile devices. This tool is ideal for learning and testing small Java code snippets on the go.

## Review summary

Jedona offers a portable way to compile and run Java on mobile, with a user-friendly interface and handy copy/paste/input features. Reviews consistently praise its portability and basic capabilities for practice. However, users frequently complain about intrusive ads, limited input handling and IO, library/file access restrictions, keyboard issues, and poor support for multi-file projects. Overall it’s useful for small exercises but not a full desktop IDE replacement.

### Pros

- Can compile and run Java code directly on mobile devices.
- Portable and great for practicing Java anywhere.
- Copy/paste code and enter inputs in-app, then compile and run.
- Nice, easy-to-use interface.
- Partial library import support added in updates (e.g., some standard libraries).

### Cons

- Intrusive ads, including full-screen video pop-ups, disrupt editing.
- Input/IO limitations: no interactive input during execution and inputs must be entered before running.
- Restrictions on libraries and file access (sandbox mode, cannot read files or import many external libraries).
- Keyboard/typing issues, including disappearing cursor during longer sessions.
- Limited multi-file/project support (often must keep code in a single file/page).
