The reason why is that  it is a very simple  and hard to erase writings and can send a mail to all your friends, teachers, customers all over the world in your bed using 1 icon  with 1 panel screen including a swift E mail writing machine. It is a writing machine that could be used by Japanese who are living out side of Japan or for the people who are learning Japanese language using the two types of keyboards on this page. It can be used with both Japanese Hiragana keyboard and iPhone iPad original keyboard.
 If you touch the vertical text field on the left, the keyboard of the iPhone will come out, so you can erase the characters or use that keyboard for kanji, English and other languages and if you like go to your iPhone or iPad setting -> General-> Keyboard -> Keyboards and Add New keyboard...Chinese,Simplified - Handwriting and you can use hand-writing input English, Japanese or others.
