## Description

HTTPZ is a fat-free, hardenable, opportunistic encryption Chrome extension designed to enhance your browsing security by automatically upgrading HTTP requests to HTTPS. Unlike other extensions, HTTPZ follows a unique "Zmart" approach: when navigating to a site over HTTP, it attempts to connect over HTTPS first and falls back to HTTP only if HTTPS is unavailable, adding insecure sites to a temporary ignore list for seven days.

This extension operates unobtrusively, respects user privacy, and includes built-in defenses against SSL-stripping attacks. It also integrates smoothly with container management extensions, supporting a safer and more controlled browsing experience. Though it does not handle sub-requests from HTTP-only sites and has minor cosmetic issues with error pages, HTTPZ remains a lightweight, configurable tool for opportunistic encryption enhancement in Chrome.
