as a student myself its true it is installed without your consent but (if your a student) it most likely is not your computer and it is free to install by a admin at your school district, yes it can be used to invade and violate privacy laws but if it is used by your teacher in a bad way report the teacher, if they use the camera yes that could be taken to court but is often dropped on the spot if they steal your passwords to your personal accounts that you use for your classes that is illegal and can be taken to court for stealing but if you have a good teacher it will be fine just make sure you don't do stuff that can get you in trouble.

So, my final verdict is that this extension IS spyware in my case. it was installed on the computer without my consent and it has begun to slow my computer down until eventually BREAKING MY OS. I am writing this review from a borrowed computer due to the computer issued to me being broken due to the absolute data crushing this extension has been doing. My OS broke after a teacher decided to shut down my computer during a BIOS (Basic-Input-Output-System) Update. This caused my computer to break my inputs and not register ANYTHING that was keyed, it would only register clicks before those eventually broke. THEN, they added things like CKAuthenticator to the mix, which started blocking websites such as Google Classroom and Edpuzzle. I am NOT complaining because I got caught on games, I am complaining because this extension damaged my computer and eventually broke it. LanSchool appears as a pop-up on the bottom right of your screen, listing the computer used's IP Address, the teacher who loaded it, and other information. We will use "jbolton81" as an example for a teacher. I was opening my computer to prepare for a test, and it said it was updating the BIOS. then, the jbolton81 popup arrived, and about twenty seconds later, my computer was shut down. When I turned it back on, the PC was being diagnosed, and it said the only way to fix it was to factory reset the computer, which I am obviously not allowed to do. And if you're reading this, UPDATE YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE SOMEONE SHUTS IT DOWN. If you do not, your computer will likely break like mine and you will have to turn it into an office member or even a principal to get it fixed by whatever school board you have. Opening LanSchool usually requires admin permission, so I couldn't do anything about it's settings. This means I was unable to do ANYTHING about the computer being forcefully shut down. Sincerely, Maximus Landry
