PictoWork

make treatments on images/Faire des traitements sur des images

The application PictoWork allows to make treatments on (Jpeg) images; it displays two windows, the original image on which the user defines treatments to do, and the image after the specified treatments have been applied. It is possible to define shapes cut from other pictures, and to incrust them into the image to modify, at any location and size (and even rotation). This application has an integrated help, that it is possible to call by clicking the big yellow question mark, which will explain you in detail how to use this application (with a HTML page displayed with Internet explorer, and which contains plenty of illustrations).

This application is bilingual, French/English; it displays according to the country Windows is installed; if Windows is installed in France, it will display in french, and, if it is installed in US, it will display in English (Help included).

This video gives a brief description of this application (new features have been added since this video has been made): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UJE1PyhTdM You'll find more details in the integrated help.

This application is guaranteed virus safe, but the system may warn you about this application as being unknown, which is not surprising as it is a personal application. It only does what it is supposed to do, and which is entirely described in the provided documentation.

The installation is made through a zipped file which creates a folder (PictoWork) where you have decided, with all the necessary files and sub-folders inside. The application is started by clicking the file PictoWork.exe inside the main folder of the application. It may be a little long to download, but it is not because of the size of the application, but of the size of the (bilingual) documentation.

This application is free. I have a more advanced appication, but it has required a lot of work, and I'd like to monetize it.

Extension safety

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

PictoWork does not require any sensitive permissions.

Risk impact analysis details
  • Low This permission has no access or impact on the user's system or data, thus carrying no risk.
Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Chrome extension may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Chrome extension reputation on Chrome Web Store, the amount of time the Chrome extension has been around, and other signals about the Chrome extension. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Chrome extension.

PictoWork may not be trust-worthy. Avoid installing if possible unless you really trust this publisher.
