Permissions used & reasons:

"Read and change your data on a number of websites" For our extension to work, we require access to these websites we own and manage.

"Read your browsing history" This allows us to manage browser tabs and provide relevant product specific information.

Your search feed might be a dangerous jungle with many suspicious or even malicious results disguised as totally legitimate content sites. Before you click on each organic result and be redirected to an unknown site, our extension provides you the opportunity to preview the safety status of the website based on WOT’s reputation score. Without the need to go visit another site to double-check the website URL, now a simple click on the safety badger next to the result in the feed will give you a better understanding of how safe/unsafe the destination likely is.

Disclaimer: We integrated the reputation score of WOT in order to provide the status of the website URL in the feed and we are not responsible for any miscategorization.

Please note that the extension only adds badgers next to organic results in your feed. We do not add the badger next to ads. You cannot check the status/safety level of the ads page.

Permissions required and reasons:

  1. Access to “contextMenus”. We require this permission to add items to the drop-down menu of the extension’s icon in order to provide a better user experience.
  2. Access to “declarativeNetRequest”. This permission allows us to redirect your search to our domain onlinesafetysearch.net, powered by Yahoo. We need to use our search domain to detect which domain you are planning to access and verify with the third-party API to receive the safety score.
  3. Access to "<all_urls>". we require this permission to check the default search engine of the user. 4.Access to "storage". We require this permission to save your settings within the extension.
