LEARN BEFORE YOU PRACTICE

Valeria+ opens in Academy, not in the games list, because understanding comes before practicing. These are two-minute videos written for families, with titles in the form of questions: "At what age is each sound learned?", "Does signing delay speech?".

Six areas of training:

• Language: language immersion, turn-taking in conversation, reshaping instead of correcting, and developmental milestones from 0 to 5 years, distinguishing between what the child understands and what they produce.

• Hearing loss and deafness: hearing aids, cochlear implants, and bone-anchored hearing aids.

• Speech sound disorders: articulation points and difficult sounds.

• Dyslexia: phonological awareness and emergent reading.

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): communication, anticipation, and regulation.

• Spanish Sign Language: the complete fingerspelling alphabet, reviewed by deaf signers.

NINE BLOCKS TO DO TOGETHER

• Auditory sensory integration, for the child who covers their ears with the vacuum cleaner or hairdryer. You choose the sound, intensity, and duration before giving them the phone; they can trigger it and stop it whenever they want. Stopping never deducts points.

• Minimal pairs: fifteen pairs of nearly identical words (frog/wool) for sounds that are easily confused.

• Semantic expansion: everyday scenarios, vocabulary categories, and progressions.

• Hearing: eighteen exercises, including listening in noise.

• Language: joint attention, imitation, comprehension, expression, and interaction.

• ASD and Dyslexia: six exercises each.

• Graphomotor skills: Lúa's Magic Slate, with numbered dots that establish the stroke order, preventing confusion between b and d.

• Augmented reality (only on some Android devices): the camera detects the gesture but never records.

Before the auditory exercises, there's the Ling Test, a check of six classic sounds.

YOU DECIDE, NOT THE APP

The microphone helps, but the adult always has the final say: if the app makes a mistake in evaluating an answer, you correct it with a tap. And if there's no microphone, you score with two buttons. Nothing depends on the recognition being accurate.

SIX LANGUAGES, NATURAL VOICE, AND NO INTERNET ACCESS

Spanish, Galician, Basque, Catalan, Dominican Spanish, and US English. The voices are built into the app, so they sound the same in the car, in a waiting room, or in a town with no cell service. The content isn't simply translated: the Dominican variant doesn't penalize the normal features of Caribbean speech.

LÚA

A pixel art black cat that levels up with you, saves streaks, earns badges, and wears the items you unlock: a little fish, a bow tie, a magician's hat.

IF YOU'RE A SPEECH THERAPIST

There's a PIN-protected professional mode to schedule what each family practices between sessions. In family mode, only the prescribed activities appear, and the results panel summarizes adherence and progress for review at the next appointment.

PRIVACY

What you do is encrypted on your phone. Valeria+ doesn't record audio or video, doesn't publish anything, and doesn't sell data.

Valeria+ is a training and home practice tool. It doesn't diagnose, doesn't replace your speech therapist, audiologist, or pediatrician, and doesn't replace intervention sessions.
