Furdy Play

Furdy Play is the voice recorder function of Furdy full version. It can be used on smartphones and tablets. It is a simple recorder with playback function.

Furdy was developed along with a daily production facility for people with autism spectrum disorder. The original goal was to improve the quality of communication between carers and clients. Furdy is the digital version of the classic tools. It includes all the symbols METACOM a day planner, Talker, timer, work plans, noise light, and much more. With the increasing number of integrated functions, also increased the number of possible applications. Furdy both in facilities, workshops, schools, retirement / nursing homes, production sites and co. and of course be used for private use.

The full version includes all functions including the 8000 Metacom symbols which can be used as an alternative to photos to create maps. Each card is assigned a statement in writing or recorded speech. These cards are used, among other things, to break down complex tasks into individual, easy-to-understand steps. These steps are then combined to form a work plan. Work plan 'cooking': "Fill 2 liters of water into the pot", "place the pot on the stove," "a pinch of salt in the water to give," etc. At each step, the user sees the corresponding image and listen to each voice ,

The daily schedule function: As with a traditional day planner summarizes all intended for day activities to a plan and done throughout the day.

Talker function: Works like a conventional Talker, with the possibility of separate boards from Metacom create icons and custom. Each symbol is assigned a statement in text or voice, which is output in a single click.

Timer function: a visual timer, which represents the remaining time in color.

Traffic light function: A digital noise of traffic lights, which measures the ambient noise level and in the form of a traffic light (green, yellow, red) represents visually.

In addition to digitized goods, there are other functions that are used primarily for entertainment, but at the same time to promote the ability of the users.

A percussion-function training rhythm, tact, motor skills and combinatorics.
A computer voice feature allows you to compose and store of self-written texts, which can be played as a TTS voice output. Reading, writing and phonetics of individual words and letters closer to its users.
A drawing board feature allows to draw creative images and save them.
With the voice recorder function can be recorded and reproduced spoken,
in Klicker feature several buttons have to be touched as soon as possible and a
Quiz function brings users the symbols incl. Their importance in more detail and help them to be remembered. In addition, a barometer is integrated, which allows users to make their current mood visible to others.

FURDY was developed through a collaboration between the program "Accessible systems" of Frankfurt University and the day mine site for people with autism Unterfranken (TAU). In constant contact and close consultation with carers employed there and regular test phases of the application, it has been adapted as far as possible to the needs of carers and of course the client.
