## Review summary

Malifaux Crew Builder is widely acclaimed for its comprehensive and free suite of features including crew building, game tracking, and easy access to rules and cards. Users praise its accessibility and regular updates with good support. However, multiple reviews mention recurring issues like app hangs at startup, problems downloading cards requiring manual fixes, large storage requirements with no SD card option, and some interface bugs affecting usability. Despite these drawbacks, the app remains the top companion tool for Malifaux players due to its rich functionality and user-centered design.

### Pros

- Comprehensive functionality including crew building, game tracking, and score/wound/condition management all in one app.
- Free to use with features typically locked behind paywalls in other wargaming apps.
- Regular updates and timely bug fixes along with in-app tech support.
- Highly praised for having all relevant rules, cards, and game content easily accessible for theorycrafting and gameplay reference.
- User-friendly interface that simplifies the complexity of the game, making it more accessible especially for new players or those with disabilities/ADHD.

### Cons

- App sometimes hangs or gets stuck on the splash/loading screen, especially when connected to the internet.
- Issues with card downloads where some cards fail to update or only partially download, requiring manual cache clearing or reinstalling the app.
- App cannot be moved to SD storage and has a large download size, which may be inconvenient for some users.
- Account creation bugs related to certain email characters and unclear password error messages.
- Occasional UI bugs such as buttons being hidden or not functioning properly on some devices, and settings options not visually updating immediately.
