Point the camera at a receipt, a page of a book, a sign, a whiteboard or a screenshot. TextDet finds the text, reads it, and gives you plain text you can edit, copy and share. The reading happens on the device: no account, no upload, no internet needed.

IMAGE TO TEXT, ANY WAY YOU LIKE
• Scan document: automatic edge detection and straightening, powered by Google's on-device scanner
• Live text: point the camera, tap any line on the screen to copy it, or press the shutter to keep it as a scan
• Take photo, with a crop you can adjust by dragging a corner or a whole side
• Choose image from your gallery, paste an image, or share an image to TextDet from any app
• Choose up to 20 images at once, or share several: each one becomes its own scan
• Import a PDF page and extract its text
• Long-press the TextDet icon for shortcuts: Scan, Photo, Gallery and Paste

TWO OCR ENGINES, BOTH OFFLINE
• Google's ML Kit, on the device, is the default. It reads five scripts: Latin, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Japanese, Korean and Devanagari. Choose one in Settings or for a single scan. The five together cover the 37 languages Google lists as supported for its text recognition
• PP-OCR, the open models from textdet.com, is the backup: it steps in when ML Kit finds no text and reads Latin and Chinese (6,174 Chinese characters) in one pass, strong on receipts and small print
• Read any scan again with the other engine or in another script
• Free, no daily limit, no watermark

TEXT YOU CAN USE
• Editable text that stays edited, saved as you type
• Detection boxes over the image: tap a box to leave its line out or bring it back, or pick All or None
• Pages set in columns are read column by column
• URLs, email addresses and phone numbers become buttons: open, write, call
• Listen: the system voices read the text aloud, one sentence at a time, offline
• Export as a .txt or Markdown file, copy to the clipboard, or send through the share sheet

• Light text on a dark background is inverted before it is read
