I have tried signing up for an account and also a yearly subscription, but the app won't allow me to scroll down to submit my name, email address, and password. I have tried multiple times and it won't work with my Android phone, not even for your free trial. It's disappointing. I hope this glitch could be resolved so more people could access all the wonderful resources here. I will be uninstalling the app and have chosen another ESV Bible that also has an audio Bible, which works best for me.

The Esv bible is one of my favorite translations. There is a $4 subscription that adds study bibles, new narrators, and bible commentaries. The app has many great features and customizations to help you read and study the bible easily. The narrators are great, each with unique and soothing voices for pleasant listening.

Excellent bible app, with a great study bible (subscription required to access the study bible). I often use both my Sproul Reformed Study Bible along with the digital one provided through this app for cross-referencing scripture, but together, or separate, they are extremely helpful. Admittedly, I have yet to use the devotionals, but plan to soon. I highly recommend the Crossway ESV bible app.

I want to like this app but it's just not good and there appears to be no progress on addressing previous bugs (text tracking with audio, reading plans won't remember a read passage, etc.) I purchased after Xmas 23, by Jan. an update changed the UI for the worse. I was under the impression this was a one-time purchase, but 1 year later, without correcting basic issues raised by multiple people in the reviews alone, the app now asks again for twice the original price. I'm sorry. I can't.

I want to like and use this app so badly, but it just is not polished and way too frustrating with bugs. Scrolling with the audio has been broken for a long time, you can't copy multiple verses at a time to share with your friends and families, the reading plans are an absolute nightmare, it loses your data all the time, etc. I pay for the premium service and enjoy the extra options, but really I'm hoping the money will just go to making the app basics work.

update: I would say that if you didn't have to pay for a Crossway subscription to access the content this app is okay, but the fact we are paying and can't get the app to be consistently working is a problem. Every update fixes one thing and breaks another. It's really frustrating! Great App but... the videos don't play in the devotions and you can't click on cross references in the creeds and confessions and make them display the text. Otherwise this is an excellent app!

ESV is my favorite translation that I read regularly (in a book). This app... 1. Does not even let me add a bookmark unless I have an account. 2. Does not let me go straight to a specific verse without having to scroll down from the top of a chapter. 3. Needs to have the option of a dark mode that is simply white and red text on a black background, not just shades of gray and muted red.

A real disappointment. On a computer this is a great resource, but this app is poorly made. Highlights don't work, and you can't even highlight multiple verses. The lower navigation disappears when you go into certian tabs. There isn't a way to exit out of other tabs. It's like someone tried to make an app without ever had making an app before and knows nothing about UI or UX. Frustrating when I really did want this to be my main Bible app.

It's my favorite translation but not a great app. My big problem with it has to do with the Listen function. I'm frequently offline and they do not allow you to listen offline. Also, the listen function mostly refuses to track with the text, the text juts sits there as the audio moves onward. If they fix these two issues I will update my review. These issues are needless and I'd love to see them fixed.

The whole left side margin of the Bible is not visible, meaning I can't read the full chapter headings. The reading plans do not remember your progress completion. Why is this: [(/slg)(/li)(/li)(/li)(/li)(/l)(/l)(/slg] at the end of Gen 1?...among other issues and I've only used the app for a few days. It's disappointing considering I think the subscription suite looks pretty decent..
