Securify uses Android's VpnService to run a local filter on your phone. It checks the domain names your device looks up against a list of known scam and phishing sites and blocks the dangerous ones before they load. It's not a VPN: there is no remote server, your traffic isn't routed anywhere, and your IP address doesn't change. Only DNS lookups pass through the filter; if one can't be checked on your device, just that domain name is sent to Securify's servers over an encrypted connection.
