When a bell rings — a school bell, a dinner bell, a shop door, a gate — everyone
following it gets a push on their phone within a second, with the sound they
chose for that particular bell. No sirens, no shouting down the hall, no
wondering whether you missed it.

FOLLOW A BELL
Someone sends you a code, you paste it in, and that bell now rings on your phone.
Nothing to sign up for and no account to create.

A SOUND PER BELL
Give each bell its own tone from a dozen built in, or set it to vibrate only, to
silent, or to mute. A muted bell still records every ring in the app — you just
aren't interrupted by it.

DISAPPEARING RINGS
A bell that rings on a schedule doesn't need to sit in your notifications all
afternoon. Set a bell to clear itself after five seconds, a minute, an hour — or
instantly.

RECENT RINGS, AT A GLANCE
The app opens on a plain feed of what rang and when, grouped by day. A ring that
was called back afterwards shows as canceled rather than vanishing, so the record
stays honest.

WIDGETS
Put recent rings on your home screen. The larger widget adds two of your own
bells as ring buttons — each takes three taps within three seconds, so a bell
can't go off because your phone brushed something in your pocket.

PA ANNOUNCEMENTS
Where the bell system also makes spoken announcements, those arrive as audio you
can play from the notification and replay from the app afterwards.

TWENTY THEMES
Ten light palettes and ten dark ones. Follow your phone's Dark Mode or ignore it
and pin the app to whichever you prefer. The widgets follow along.

MOVING PHONES
Export your bells to a file and import it on another phone — including between
Android and iPhone, which share the same format.

WHAT YOU NEED
Bell Alerts receives bells published by a Bell Alerts server, which is software a
site runs itself. If nobody has sent you a bell code, there is nothing for the
app to receive yet — ask whoever runs the bells where you are. ## Rankings - #2,706,444 — Overall ## Permissions and access ### Permissions - `android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE` - `android.permission.INTERNET` - `android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS` - `android.permission.VIBRATE` - `android.permission.WAKE_LOCK` - `com.android.vending.CHECK_LICENSE` - `com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE` - `com.runaboutdigital.bellalert.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION` ## Similar extensions and apps - [Bell Sounds](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.Sounds.Effects.Music.Ringtones.Bell) — 981 users - [Bell Sounds -Handbell Ringtone](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.soundjabber.bellsound.bellringtone) — 53,388 users, 2.83 / 5 - [Bellz: Service Bell & Sounds](https://chrome-stats.com/d/dev.freckled.bell) — 377,053 users, 4.53 / 5 - [Bell](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.spsoundsstudio.bell.handbell.sounds) — 3,916 users - [Ringing Bell](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.nasuf.ringingbell) — 158,045 users, 2.93 / 5 - [Doorbell Sounds & Ringtones](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.doorbellntl) — 725 users - [Bells & Whistles Ringtones](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.jrj.bellsandwhistles) — 1,169,946 users, 4.14 / 5 - [Bell Sounds](https://chrome-stats.com/d/io.appp.sounds.bells) — 29,425 users, 3.80 / 5 - [School Bell](https://chrome-stats.com/d/rascsoft.schoolbell) — 2,841 users - [Butler's Bell](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.scrbrd.butlers_bell) — 880 users - [Bell Sounds Prank](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.nechapps.bells) — 115,977 users - [The Bell](https://chrome-stats.com/d/net.dzyga.android.thebell) — 48,878 users, 3.00 / 5 --- Source: [Chrome-Stats](https://chrome-stats.com/d/com.runaboutdigital.bellalert)
