Simple Audio Recorder is a clean, privacy-respecting recorder built for people who want full control over their recordings — without ads, subscriptions, internet access, or data collection.<br><br>── Output formats<br><br>• WAV (PCM) — uncompressed, bit-perfect audio. Ideal for archiving or music production where quality must not be compromised. Files are large but recording starts immediately with no encoding step.<br><br>• AAC / M4A — compressed audio with excellent quality at a fraction of the WAV file size. Sample rates from 8 kHz to 48 kHz. The app automatically detects the maximum bitrate your device&#39;s AAC encoder supports and unlocks higher bitrate options accordingly.<br><br>• OGG Opus — modern, open-source format with exceptional quality at low bitrates. Ideal for voice recordings and podcasts where file size matters.<br><br>── USB audio devices <br><br>Supports USB class-compliant audio interfaces alongside the built-in microphone. Select your input source before recording. If a USB device is disconnected mid-recording, the app automatically switches to the built-in microphone and continues — no data is lost.<br><br>── Recording settings <br><br>Configure output format, sample rate, bitrate, and mono/stereo channels before each recording. Options unsupported by your hardware or encoder are shown greyed out — you can never accidentally select a setting that will be silently ignored.<br><br>── Library and playback <br><br>Recordings are saved to Music/SimpleAudioRecorder, visible to any file manager or music player. The built-in library shows duration, file size, date, and format for each recording.
