## Description

Every app now needs a sign-in, collects your data, and ignores your privacy. When I set out to build Ownmind as a solo indie developer, privacy was my first thought: how do I deliver a feature-rich app that uses the minimum permissions and gives you full access to your own data? No cloud, no accounts, and private by design.

Ownmind is built around a simple idea: externalize your thoughts. Get what's in your head onto the page, then check it off or talk it through. Nothing you write ever leaves your device unless you choose to export it yourself.

journal / checklist / chat in one simple place
No guided prompts, no rigid structure. Write a quick line or the whole story, keep a list next to it, ask a question mid-entry. It's a blank page that works however you think.

Checklists, not todo lists
Check things off to feel good about what you did, not guilty about what's left. A small distinction that changes how the whole thing feels. Set a reminder if you want one.

Photos go in too
Attach a picture and write about it. Like everything else, the image is stored on your phone and nowhere else.

Your memories, in plain files you own
Everything you write is saved as a memory, a plain markdown file stored on your device. Export anytime, no lock-in, no proprietary format. Yours to keep, move, or back up however you like.

Open it on your computer
Ownmind can serve your memories to a browser on any device on your own local network, even hotspotting between your own devices, secured with a PIN. Type on a real keyboard without your data ever touching the internet.

Talk it through, when you want to
When you want a second voice, Ownmind can run Gemma 4, Google's open-weight AI model, entirely offline on your phone. It's less like chatting with a service, more like an extension of your own thinking. That's why it's called Ownmind. Show it a photo and it can actually see it: describe it, answer questions about it, talk it through with you. The model is optional and takes about 4 GB of space; you add it only if you want it, and it gets updated as new models ship.

Better for the planet, too
Cloud AI burns data-center energy for every message. Running the model on hardware you already own is private and a little greener.

Everything above is included
Journal, checklist, chat, on-device AI, browser access, and markdown export. No account, no ads.

Ownmind Pro / Lifetime, for the curious

- Custom color themes
- Biometric + seed phrase encryption for your memories
- Unlimited custom AI personalities (modify the AI system prompt)
- Gemma 4 E4B, a larger on-device model for flagship phones
- Customizable AI context window

Pro is optional: a monthly subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase that never expires. Purchases are tied to the Google account used at checkout; since Ownmind has no logins and collects no data, a purchase can't transfer to a different Google account.

Buying Pro directly supports independent app development.

Private by design. Offline by default.

Privacy Policy: https://ownmindai.com/privacy/
